Everything You've Always Wanted to Know
and Shouldn't Have Asked

VeteransPageDotCom is designed, maintained and donated by yours truly.  I am old, a retired military E-9 and disabled Vietnam Veteran with far too much time on my hands (so my wife says).  I wanted to somehow give something back to the heroes of America despite restrictions imposed by my disabilities.  So, this is an effort developed from my beat up recliner in a room that never seems to have heat.  But I can still see and I can still type.  Unfortunately, sometimes I can't understand what the hell I am seeing and typing.  This is my sole excuse for mistakes.

In all honesty this is an attempt to provide needed information to our veterans about ongoing programs to help them find answers to their problems, inform them about upcoming events around our nation, identify links to other more professional military related sources, provide a little entertainment from notoriously bad jokes, and anything else that I find on the internet highway that is perhaps somewhat useful to our veterans.

A veterans newspaper is located here that can be read on-line or downloaded from a .pdf format (whatever the hell that is).  It is sponsored by VFW Post 9877 in Amherst, Virginia and I am the Editor.  Content of the newspaper is derived from my personal ramblings, or from information found around the internet.  Some information is sent to me by readers.  In all cases it is difficult to sometimes determine the author of the article, or whether it has a copyright.  Should that occur, email me and I will remove it, but please note we are a completely non-profit operation (believe me, there is no profit) and use of the information is only to assist the heroes of this country  The newspaper is published bi-monthly.

I write and print each issue in my home using my very slow $395 PC, a 6 year old copy of MS Word and an old clacking laser printer from hell .  Hey, it works.  In addition to on-line access a copy is mailed to every active Post 9877 member.  I publish it bi-monthly and encourage you to send me any acceptable articles via email.  I, of course, reserve the right to edit the submission or not print the article whatsoever (I receive some strange things but do enjoy the girlie photos, although I've forgotten what to do about them).  There is also a newspaper located on the VFW Post 4252 website written by a good friend who volunteered to replace me in that position when I moved to the mountains.  She does a fine job and will provide info that I probably missed.

To reiterate and make sure we all understand each other, all content on these pages can be found on the net or was sent to me from you people out there in nevernever land.  Because of that, I sometimes cannot confirm the author or whether there could be any copyright existing on the information.  If there is a problem, simply email me and I will remove it.  I will not be happy, but I will immediately remove the damn thing.  It was not put on here to make money or gain notoriety.  Just to inform and support America's heroes.  I would rather you allow me to use it and I will be more than happy to give you the publicity as originator.  I also try to check validity of every article, but sometimes people can convince me something is really true when in fact it is a total myth. That is why they make baseball bats.

You may note the newspaper contains some sponsors.   One hundred percent of all donations from sponsors or private parties are used to maintain the webpage, pay the server host company, publish the newspapers, and purchase needed supplies.  Heck, I don't even charge for the "small" quantities of Jack Daniels consumed while sitting here going blind with my tiny monitor.  Should any excess funds be acquired (yeah, right) they are donated to the respective VFW Post to support veterans in need.  To date, income is far below outgoing funds for this project and I spend a bunch out of my  own pocket (please, please do not tell the wife).  However, that is inconsequential.  What matters are our veterans and their families.

Please do not be critical of my web design or writing abilities.  I am just an old dumb hillbilly doing his best with limited skills.  Ignore my mistakes and enjoy visiting the site.  I would hope that you will  pass it around to your friends, veterans and to those who have never served in uniform.  It is just as important to inform those who have not served about the sacrifices and honor of America's veterans.

Should you wish to send me an article, comment, new computer, new printer, Porsche 911, or want to find out how to send a monetary donation (don't forget the Jack Daniels), please do so at webmaster@veteranspage.com  It will be lovingly appreciated.  Especially money to help with the costs.  Any good links to other pages will be appreciated too, but don't send me those damn webpages advertising your book, clothing, sex toys, etc.  I completely hate those who profit from our veterans (second reason for baseball bats) and I won't put a link up for them.

Please read the disclaimer located on the VeteransPageDotCom main page in case I've missed anything here.

Thank you for visiting.  God Bless America and our troops in harms way.
